I was anyways tolerating all the funky stuff that comes along with applications... fancy gui and pop-ups, and "security breach" warnings and all such stuff... and in the mean time google.com automatically started redirecting me to igoogle... what!?! WHY!?! Who decides what GOOGLE should do for ME? Who the f*** commands my liking and choices? Well, I can't blame it much because of the increasing need of collaboration spaces and web2.0 concepts and I liked it somewhat later too; but darn it, I was like I can't take it anymore when I saw a "Progress bar for MARKING MESSAGES READ in a folder"!!!!!! ... I mean - this is outright shit! .. 1. I right click on the small name of folder 2. I click the Mark all read selection 3. I wait for the folder to load and keep f'ing watching the progress bar showing how many of my 5 or 50 messages did it mark as read... WOW... I *love watching that... its so fun! yahoo marking the new messages as read..awesome view, isn't it! and guess what its not done yet, **4: I click on the done button on the poped up progress bar, when yahoo completes marking all my messages as read! So I acknowledge that yahoo has finished the task!
What's the need for this? Is it just do it because you know how to do it? or lack of work? or what? To be Agile, to be Lean is to incorporate YAGNI as a part of it. I don't see in any way this being closer to web2.0 or sophistication or user convenience or a significant service to be provided. Atleast keep an option to not be able to use the new stuff that you think is "cool".. Dear-o-dear, Wally! Do they know something like KISS? Or I wish?
Holy lord, save the world! May the future be bright!

The Change, part I
I came across this lately, a nice one really -
When things go wrong, as they usually will
and the daily road seems all uphill
when machines are down and tempers high
you try to smile but can only cry
and you really feel you would like to quit
... you never can tell know how close you are
it may be very near though it seems so far.
So stick to the fight when you are the hardest hit
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.
But one is some times forced to think, why does the daily road "seem" uphill? What triggers this "change" in the life? Though exceptions always exist, is the road indeed uphill?...

Well, begun is half done
Long time since I've been contemplating doing this, so thought why not just start with something...
But at the end of the day, all that pops up in my mind now is the day. Actually, today was one of my another not very rare "good" weekends.. all off the laptop, office network or any other work. A "nice" (Katrina Kaif, Bipasha Basu and Sameera Reddy could help identify or justify that adjective :D) movie after a very long time (any movie for that matter) made it a good start. Me, Anand Sr. and Anand Jr. then had some awesome parathas (which actually we boastingly ordered far more in number than our capacity, but we did finish them all!) for late lunch and then some good cricket!... what's special is that we trio, for the first time in ~2 yrs got a bat (borrowed from neighborhood), a ball (which we lost later) and still better went to a ground .. and had a good time :). All tired back and another movie (Jodi no 1) cheers us up till the night.. when we are still working on the parathas.
